Lift Off…

With Alister Wheeldon

Alister Wheeldon is known as Big Al due to being 6ft 3inches tall!

Alister began broadcasting initially on hospital radio but was quickly picked up by several local radio stations and eventually presented The East Midlands Biggest Request Show, known as TEMBRS, on a daily basis. In recent years he has moved on to hosting shows in foreign parts including Drive Time in Spain, a 60s and 70s show, and the Love Groove late at night. He also now has shows on radio stations in Germany, the USA, and Australia.

Alister has also covered the last three General Elections as anchor on local radio…an 8 hour live show with virtually no music, only chat. Not easy to do when you need the loo!

In 2014 Al began producing and presenting Super Gold 50s and Super Gold 60s for worldwide syndication and an old school friend could not believe his ears when he tuned in his radio in Australia  and heard Alister’s shows!.

Over the last couple of years Al has been working on 2 Scottish stations presenting The Pulse – a blend of Soul and Motown with Philly, Stax and the best complementary hits. Now.he has joined Delux Radio and is very much looking forward to working with some great personalities.
